About us

The "Cenacolo" was brought to life thanks to a group of friends and wine lovers, all from various locations in the county of Lecce, renowned land of the rose' wine. After numerous experiences mappain the aeno-gastronomic field, we all realized the rose' wine was always neglected, always absent in all the major wine events and we started wondering why. At a certain point we considered the idea of periodical meetings, where we could freely taste the rose' wine and match it with our traditional dishes. One of our motivating factors was the fact we all had grown up with " rosato", always present on our tables.  Our "rosato" comes from the vinification of our own noble varietal,  " negroamaro", capable of producing sublime roses'. Today, our goal is to improve the image of the rose, by giving voice to all of those who love rose'.

Who we represent
bottiglia rosatoWe belong to the variegated category of consumers. For the past two years we have tried to enhance our personal knowledge of rose' through periodical tasting and food pairing. We believe this is the best way to educate oneself as a consumer.  A more educated consumer can have a stronger influence on the winemakers, reminding them not to neglect their territory and their traditions. At the present time, as consumers struggle to find their own identity, they can easily allow themselves to be negatively influenced by the market. We want to reverse this tendency, whereby consumers influence the market, making the rose' wine a priority, and true expression of our land.

What we have
We have an association by the name of " Cenacolo dei Sommi Estimatori e Massimi Degustatori". cenacoloThis title is intentionally ironic and provocative in an attempt to reflect one of the contradictions surrounding the rose wine. We have a passion for this type of wine, even though most people do not discuss it or know anything about it.

Purpose
To sensitize public opinion, to spread and to affirm to the best the rose wine.
